We Like Biscuits!

Welcome to the Happy Hounds Biscuits website! Home of exciting yummy treats for our furry friends, handmade in Yorkshire.

As a family that revolves around our pups, the obvious thing for us was to make special healthy and yummy treats with no additives and all natural ingredients for our gang to enjoy. The pups said that they thought other dogs would enjoy them too, and so here we are!

Our online shop is misbehaving at the moment, so please email happyhoundsbiscuits@hotmail.com, call or text 07843 012629 or find us on Facebook www.facebook.com/happy.houndsbiscuits to place an order. Free delivery on orders of 6 bags or more. Each bag is £3.50 and weighs 125g.

The current flavours are:

All our grain (traditional) biscuits are a base of wheat flour and oats (good fibre and nutrients in the oats). Grain free are a base of Gram (chickpea) flour. Low allergen risk, as some dogs cannot even tolerate rice or potato flour, and this has neither. Gram flour is also high protein.

Apple Pie – contains fresh apple and cinnamon. Apple is good for fibre and vitamin C. Cinnamon has anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory properties. It is beneficial for dogs who suffer from chronic yeast infections or joint pains and stiffness.

Carrot and Coriander – Carrot has vitamin A and C plus fibre, Coriander is good for the breath.

Chamomile – Like chamomile tea is for humans – calming and soothing. Good to settle stomachs and nerves. Good for dogs who are giddy kippers or high anxiety. Especially useful on car journeys or in unknown places. Useful in situations with loud noises (fireworks). Aids sleep and settling at night, or when leaving dogs alone for a period of time.

Ginger Mutts – Anti-emetic (anti sickness). Good for car sickness. Also generally soothing for stomachs and good for joints. Ginger has a lot of health benefits.

Sweet Potato and Banana – Vitamin A and C, potassium and magnesium, plus fibre. Plus dogs seem to love the taste!

Charcoal – An old favourite. Looks a little odd but is very good for the digestion.

Pumpkin – Pumpkin is a stomach soother and removes excess water from the digestive tract, thus reducing diarrhoea and digestive disturbance in your pet. Pumpkin also contains Vitamin E which is helpful for pups with itchy skin.

Grain Free Cheezy – Just nutritional yeast and olive oil. Nutritional yeast gives a ‘cheesy’ flavour but is lower in fat and high in B vitamins and minerals. Olive oil is good for the skin and coat.

Grain Free Peanut Butter Nibbles – Peanut Butter is a popular dog treat. Pure peanut butter (just ground up peanuts). High in protein and good oils.

Grain Free Turmeric and Olive Oil – These ingredients are known for their anti-inflammatory and soothing properties, not only digestively but also for skin, tissues and joints. Dogs seem to love the smell and taste of turmeric!

Grain Free Apple and Strawberry – Apple is a good source of fibre and vitamin C and Strawberry is good for dog’s teeth. It is meant to help whiten them.

Grain Free Carob – Carob has a rich concentration of fibre to support the gut, as well as minerals such as calcium and magnesium.

Grain Free Pineapple – Pineapple is full of minerals including manganese, copper, potassium, magnesium, iron, calcium, phosphorus and zinc. There is some evidence that dogs who like to eat poo whilst out on walks are looking for these minerals from that source, and surely a tasty biscuit is a better option?!

Grain Free Tomato and Oregano – Tomatoes have a lot of fibre, as well as antioxidants, vitamins and minerals, including B9 (folate), which helps with tissue growth and cell function.

NOTE: NEVER let dogs eat tomato leaves or stalks or green tomatoes.

Oregano is also rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.

Grain Free Pea and Mint – Peas are high in vitamins and minerals, as well as protein and fibre. They also contain lutein (and antioxidant) which may be good for a dog’s skin, heart and eye health.

Mint is a soothing for the stomach, can help repel fleas, and improves doggy breath!
